:)Since my last posting in March, I've been in the park three times a week every week. The fishing has been unbeleivable- three different days catching over a hundred brookies, and the hard days (on the Hughes and Brokenback Run,) have produced the biggest fish- a beautiful 12 incher from Brokenback and several over 10" on the Hughes on three trips. I'm afraid I have to admit that I don't enjoy dry-fly fishing, usually I fish about a half hour per trip with dries, but always end up nymph fishing. This is the same as my smallmouth fishing- I never fish with dries or poppers or hair bugs for them, either. The Mr. Rapidan emerger and beadhead have been my go-to flies. They seem to work all the time when the sun is up and visible. In the early morning, I usually start with caddis nymphs, the deeper the better. This morning, from 6:30 till about 8:30, the caddis worked great, and then I started seeing brookies chasing emergers. ( I think that's what they were doing.) When I see that, I switch to Mr. Rapidans, and this a.m.,as usual, the action was phenomenal. I'm catching at least 75% of the fish in really skinny water in the riffles and pocket water rather than the pools. Today was the first day I felt the need to drop down to 5x flourocarbon and it seemed to make a big difference.

That is phenomonal action. Would you care to divulge some of the stream names where you had success; and if you fished from Skyline Dr. or from the bottom? I have been having some success on the Rapidan and Rose w dry flies but nothing close to your production.
